# Filecoin (FIL) Quantum Readiness Report > Filecoin has a QRI score of 1.5/100 and is assessed at Stage 0 (Unassessed / No Evidence) with medium evidence confidence. Evaluation date: 2026-06-02. Review status: draft. Evaluated scope: Native asset, consensus, storage proofs (PoRep/PoSt), FEVM smart contracts, and all on-chain value-at-risk. Filecoin's production cryptography is entirely classical with no post-quantum protection across any critical layer. Spend authorization uses ECDSA (secp256k1) and BLS (BLS12-381) signatures. Consensus relies on BLS block/ticket signatures and Drand BLS threshold randomness. Most critically, the network's core value proposition—verifiable storage via Proof of Replication (PoRep) and Proof of Spacetime (PoSt)—depends on Groth16 zk-SNARKs over BLS12-381 pairings, which a quantum adversary could forge to falsely claim storage rewards or corrupt consensus. Protocol Labs' CryptoNet funded research into lattice-based PQ-SNARKs (2022) demonstrates awareness, but no formal quantum risk assessment, FIP, migration roadmap, prototype, or testnet exists. All address types (f1/secp256k1, f3/BLS, f410/FEVM-secp256k1) remain quantum-vulnerable. The project has not published the minimum required assessment artifacts (Stage 0), and every critical cryptographic layer remains quantum-vulnerable with no mitigation in production. The QRI Score is 2/100, reflecting that while some minimal research acknowledgment exists, there is no formal inventory, threat model, or migration plan. ## Core resources - [Filecoin QRI report](https://qrindex.org/projects/filecoin/): Human-readable assessment with score, stage, evidence, blockers, risks, and assurance notes. - [Filecoin structured report data](https://qrindex.org/projects/filecoin/report.json): Complete report as JSON for deterministic machine processing. - [QRI methodology](https://qrindex.org/methodology/): Scoring model, evidence handling, readiness stages, confidence, assurance, and report status. - [All QRI project reports](https://qrindex.org/llms.txt): Score-ranked index of every published project assessment. - [Filecoin official website](https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/filecoin): Project-maintained website. ## Evidence sources - [Evidence source 1](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 2](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 3](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 4](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 5](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 6](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 7](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 8](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 9](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 10](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 11](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 12](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 13](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 14](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 15](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 16](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 17](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 18](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 19](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 20](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 21](): Public source cited by the Filecoin QRI assessment.
