# Flare (FLR) Quantum Readiness Report > Flare has a QRI score of 7.5/100 and is assessed at Stage 2 (Mitigation / Development) with medium evidence confidence. Evaluation date: 2026-06-05. Review status: draft. Evaluated scope: Native asset (FLR), base layer, consensus, interoperability (FTSO, State Connector, FAssets). Flare is an EVM-compatible PoS L1 network using Avalanche's Snowman++ consensus. The production network relies entirely on classical cryptography (secp256k1 ECDSA for accounts/transactions and likely BLS for validators). While Flare Research published a 2022 whitepaper proposing a hybrid ECDSA + CRYSTALS-Dilithium signature scheme for the EVM, this remains a theoretical design with no evidence of testnet or mainnet implementation. All quantum-critical layers, including spend authorization, consensus authentication, and cross-chain interoperability protocols (FTSO, State Connector, FAssets), remain vulnerable to quantum attacks. The project qualifies for Stage 2 due to the existence of a public mitigation design, but scores low due to the complete absence of production protection or migration tooling. ## Core resources - [Flare QRI report](https://qrindex.org/projects/flare-networks/): Human-readable assessment with score, stage, evidence, blockers, risks, and assurance notes. - [Flare structured report data](https://qrindex.org/projects/flare-networks/report.json): Complete report as JSON for deterministic machine processing. - [QRI methodology](https://qrindex.org/methodology/): Scoring model, evidence handling, readiness stages, confidence, assurance, and report status. - [All QRI project reports](https://qrindex.org/llms.txt): Score-ranked index of every published project assessment. - [Flare official website](https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/flare-networks): Project-maintained website. ## Evidence sources - [Evidence source 1](): Public source cited by the Flare QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 2](): Public source cited by the Flare QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 3](): Public source cited by the Flare QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 4](): Public source cited by the Flare QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 5](): Public source cited by the Flare QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 6](): Public source cited by the Flare QRI assessment. - [Evidence source 7](): Public source cited by the Flare QRI assessment.
